Munroe's story is the stuff of great, low budget TV drama, he just keeps on winning and I'm pretty sure he's still emptying bins in between fights. Working class hero or what? - Acne Scar Treatment

They are very hardworking man. British boxing stars are busy in their practice and this can be seen by their performance in the tournament and this is a nice cover story about their practice and this type of articles are very useful for the learners of boxing. - fake watches

I think Andrew's being a little too kind to a lot of British fans (loved the article btw) - Khan, especially, attracts a lot of negative comment. He's already being slammed, mostly along the lines of "if he ducks Maidana then he's rubbish" even though he hasn't actually ducked him yet, and is about 4-5 fights back from a horrendous knockout against a far from hand-picked opponent (actually Prescott was hand-picked, just not in the usual fashion).

Almost more interested in Mitchell and Gavin rather than Khan at the moment though. And Froch and Haye as well.

Good times. - Funky Badger

Murray-Mitchell is top of my wish list for 2010, I'd sell a limb for a ringside ticket.
If Fury weren't a heavyweight he'd struggle for any sort of attention whatsoever. In my opinion he should concentrate solely on conditioning as with his accuracy he could very well outwork a lot of heavies. He'd need to change dramatically though for that to happen and how many young, cocky unbeatens have the nouse to do that? - Andrew Harrison

I will admit to trying to get home from the office early on Friday to catch a US stream of the UK version of FNF. From what I have gathered, if Khan is being choosy-- then Murray/Mitchell would be a crackerjack fight that those of us in the US should pay attention to if it ever comes off. Nathan Cleverly is also an interesting one to watch. And (in what may be a testament to how little attention is being paid to amateur boxing in the US at present), I could probably name you more members of the 2k8 UK Olympic boxing squad than I could US members. But I'm not sold on Tyson Fury to date. - willfrank

British fans are a critical lot full stop (you have to be cynical when you’ve followed some of the guys we have) however Khan has himself a fan base not too dissimilar to the old Pacmaniacs. If you criticise the lad, you're instantly accused of racism. I for one feel that Maidana is the perfect fight for Amir to take. He's tough and is a bonafide puncher yet fairly beatable if Amir boxes to the best of his ability. A win here would dispel much of the criticism he's currently fielding.
If he continues down the Mayweather route of carefully selecting fights without risk, the cynics will multiply.
Jay, I’m pretty sure Khan can now work with all manner of promoters in a quest for greater autonomy. Funny thing is, these lone rangers, I’m thinking Roy Jones, David Haye and Mayweather, who claim they’re free from promotional ties, usually end up being unable to land fights. Odd. - Andrew Harrison

Can Amir Khan choose to have two promoters?

How about Amir Khan having two promoters, one promoter for his fights in Britain and Europe and another pormoter for his fights in the U.S.?

I hope Coach Roach and Khan's management will agree to have Amir Khan fight in the undercard of the Pacquiao-Clottey bout to bring some lively British fans to Dallas. - Jay Ari Yin

Great work, I'm somewhat familiar with some of the non-international names (Murray, Mitchell, Fury, some of the Olympians, etc) but it's hard to always tell from this side of the Atlantic what is going on over in England. This very much helps clarify things.

Is Khan getting any heat from fans for seemingly avoiding Maidana? He would deserve some criticism if he fights Barrera again, considering how Khan currently fights in one of the best divisions in the sport and there are numerous matchups out there for him. Seems like both Hatton and Witter would be huge, very winnable fights for him.

PS - You give us too much credit. "Refuse collector" is something a sophistocate would say. In the States, we prefer "garbage man." Just keeping it classy.

As I've said before, I'm not as clued in on the British boxing scene as I should be. Now I feel MUCH more clued in.

I liked the bio details, too -- you have to love a boxer to dress up like a garbage man. - Tim Starks
