Jose “El Gallo” Rivera And Samuel “Nigerian Nightmare” Peter Hold Open To Public Workout

Hollywood, Fl- While most of the country is being hit hard by jack frost, here in sunny south florida avid boxing fans were able to receive an out door treat in preparation for what will easily be the biggest boxing card to ever hit the city of Hollywood, Florida. At the Seminole Hard Rock Casino, current WBA Super Welterweight Champion Jose Rivera (38-4-1 24KO’s) and WBC number one contender Samuel Peter (27-1 22KO’s), put on a workout that was open to public to the delight of many fans and celebrities, showing exactly why they are who they are in the boxing world today. Jose Rivera, scheduled to defend against undefeated Travis Simms (24-0 18KO’s), put on a strenuous session, shadow boxing with his trainer for 8 rounds, sandwiched in between two jump rope sessions that lasted 12minutes a piece. As if that wasn’t enough, he also did heavy abs work for well over 10 minutes to cap it all off. Samuel Peter (27-1 22KO’s), scheduled to defend against James “Light’s Out” Toney, (69-5-3 43KO’s), accompanied by famed cornerman Stacey Mckinney, put on a light workout but did manage to show that if conditioning does become an issue in the ring, he won’t be the one to display it. Both men were very generous to the public, and performed like the consummate professionals we know them to be, despite the reputation that most boxer’s tend to get now-a-days. This will be the final public outing for the fighter’s prior to the weigh in on friday, which will also include a final press conference.
