TQBR Prediction Game 2.0 Standings, Update #2

We’re one third of the way through 2.0, and everything is still very bunched up. There’s a six-way tie for first place; three other people have gone three for four; and 15 people have called two of the four fights accurately, enough to keep them in very close range. Even the people who are one for four or zero for four are very much alive.

The call of the week goes to epark88, who not only called the Fernando Montiel upset of Hozumi Hasegawa (500 + 100) but also predicted the round closed to the knockout (+100). Unfortunately, those are the only points epark88 has. Only four other people — cNcEDDIE, Migs88, stickfigure and Not Sure aka Jay Ari Yin — went with Montiel, and now three of them are tied for first.

For the bigger U.S. fight, 21 people got the accuracy bonus for calling a Floyd Mayweather UD over Shane Mosley. What was surprising to me is that when I added it up, almost as many people — 20 — went with Mosley to win in some way. A few netherworlders went with Mayweather to win, but by some other kind of decision or, rarely, by KO.

This coming weekend brings us another TQBR Prediction Game 2.0 worthy bout: Paul Williams-Kermit Cintron. Look for that prediction thread midweek. In the meantime, your standings are below; as usual, if you see a problem with the tabulation, let me know and I’ll adjudicate. (I’m still sick, but not as drugged up, so maybe I won’t have screwed it up as many times this week as I did last.)
