Interesting Fights Tonight

A quick post to share some semi-compelling fights that will be airing tonight. DKTV Say what you will about Don King but the man has shown a knack for adapting to the ever changing world we live in.  Truth be told his adaption is more of a vain attempt to line his pockets but I have to say that I am pleased he is taking boxing promotion to the web. Tonight anyone can go to www.donkingtv.comand view – free of charge – Cory Spinks IBF junior middleweight title defense against Verno Phillips.  The webcast will air beginning at 8 PM EST/5 PM PST.  DKP will also show hot prospect Devon Alexander taking on Miguel Callist for some fringe junior welterweight belt. I have to say that I am interested to see how this new media performs as it may open up other promoters to do the same. Vs. The Vs. Network is actually televising a great Top Rank card tonight.  Unfortunately that fight is Roy Jones domination of James Toney in their 1994 super middleweight showdown.  It’s a compelling fight to view if you missed it the first go around and I find it more intriguing to see Toney as a 168 lb fighter.  Arguably the best thing to come out of the Top Rank – Vs. Network partnership is their Legends of the Ring series. FSN For those extreme die hard Andre Ward fans, FSN will be airing the tape-delayed broadcast of his fight with Rubin Williams earlier this past week.  While FSN’s fight broadcasts always leave me wanting more I may have to TiVo this one as I am undecided on how Ward’s career path will shape up.
