More Meta-Queensberry Rules: The Addition Of Some Advertising

You might note the addition, starting today, of some new advertising on the site — as of now, some Google ads inserted into and between the individual blog entries, and some text link ads, too. There could be more new ads to come, albeit of a different variety. I’ve been working on doing this for a while now.

I’ve always tried to avoid talking about how much I make or don’t make for blogging here, but let me put it this way: For going on two years, it’s been almost entirely a labor of love. I just like writing about boxing, and the blogging experience, and chatting with all the educated and funny boxing fans whom I’m fortunate to have stop by.

But I also like the idea of being remunerated for my efforts. Who doesn’t?

Here’s my official policy on advertising, because this blog, even under the most optimistic scenarios, will almost certainly forever be more for fun than money: If at any point the readers of this blog find any advertising I insert on the site for my own gain to be too annoying to tolerate, I will hasten to remove it. I’m not kidding. Do not hesitate to speak up if you hate it. There’s nothing I dislike more than a site that’s so loaded up with advertising it’s a pain to read the damn thing.

But if you’re OK with it, I say, please support the sponsors of this blog. That is all.
