TQBR Prediction Game Standings, Update #2

Last week’s leaders in the TQBR Prediction Game — Alexmac and Kid Gruesome, aka Scott Kraus — took a gamble on Eddie Chambers. The bet did not pay off. We now have a four-way tie for first place, with Chris, cNceddie, Not Sure (aka Jay Ari Yin) and JB taking over.

The only other person who went for Chambers to beat heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko? Stickfigure, who’s never met a longshot he didn’t love. They’re like puppies in the window to him.

Everyone who picked Klitschko got 500, of course, with 11 people getting 50 bonus points for picking Klitschko by knockout and Paul Kelly getting a total of 100 bonus points for calling it closest — an 11th round KO prediction when the 12th is when it went down. Five seconds more, and a bunch of us (myself included) woulda got some nice bonus points. My bracket’s busted in the NCAA tourney, so I was really rooting for Chambers to make it to the final bell.

This week will be a busy one for the Prediction Game. We’ll do predictions for the Showtime card featuring super middleweight Arthur Abraham against Andre Dirrell; for the HBO card featuring junior welterweight Marcos Maidana vs. Victor Cayo and the lightweight rematch between Ali Funeka and Joan Guzman; and maybe for good measure, we’ll throw in the bout between Koki Kameda and Pongsaklek Wonjongkam to determine the lineal flyweight champion of the world. Hell, if Steve Cunningham-Matt Godfrey at cruiserweight doesn’t end up canceled, we might toss that one in, too.

Sharpen your wits, friends. That’s as many as 2500 points on the line, not counting upset calls, decision vs. KO picks and accuracy bonuses.

Please find below the current standings. If you see any errors, let me know and we can adjudicate.
