Though that might seem like that’s the set up to one of the most mind- and/or gender-bending joke in the universe, it actually happened the other night. Let the reality of that sink in for a moment.
Past the window dressing, shiny sequins and sparkling pats on the back, in Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana (pictured above; Mark J. Rebilas/USA Today Sports), people got to see a far closer fight than they expected. Maidana built upon the foundation of badassery that he’d firmly laid down in numerous fights prior, and Mayweather managed to walk away with his latest win through scratching and surviving. Good times. There was an entire undercard, too.
