Almost exactly four months ago, Robert Garcia (Pictured, right; via) was so proud of his charge Marcos Maidana’s effort against Floyd Mayweather the first time, that he chucked a water bottle at Floyd’s extraterrestrial buddy Lil Wayne. In the above picture, Garcia relives old glory.
So that was fun.
This week on Queensberry Rules Radio, James Foley of Bad Left Hook and TQBR’s own Patrick Connor preview the upcoming rematch between the consensus best fighter in the world, and the man who gave Mayweather more trouble than anyone outside of a courtroom has been able to give him in years, Argentinian mangler Marcos Maidana. An undercard featuring Miguel Vazquez, Leo Santa Cruz and Alfredo Angulo will get a brief salute, as well.
Also on the agenda, however, is a recapping of last weekend’s flyweight bouts (Roman Gonzalez’s smashing victory over Akira Yaegashi, and Juan Francisco Estrada’s drubbing of Giovani Segura), Carl Frampton vs. Kiko Martnez II, and the Showtime card led by Adrien Broner.
