So, how about that 2014, huh? Brutal stuff, let’s call it what it was. And here we stand, 2015 is in full swing, and we just don’t even know what comes next — kinda like that picture up there (via).
This weekend could start the year out on a positive note, as far as more notable fight cards go. The Bermane Stiverne vs. Deontay Wilder bout on Showtime may be for a heavyweight belt of some sort, but more importantly, it’s two potentially promising heavyweights squaring off. And the reason why that’s significant is that there aren’t all that many promising heavyweights, much less ones that fight each other.
On Queensberry Rules Radio this week, James Foley of Bad Left Hook and TQBR’s Patrick Connor will mask their cynicism for as long as possible while previewing the first big fight weekend of 2015. Also included on the card is Leo Santa Cruz vs. Jesus Ruiz and Amir Imam vs. Fidel Maldonado, so those are on the chopping block as well.
