We got a pleasant surprise this last weekend on the Keith Thurman vs. Julio Diaz card, mainly in the form of a Fight of the Year candidate with Matthysse and Molina. Most felt the card would be a bunch of mismatches, and rightfully so, but most were wrong. Mostly, anyway.
Going into another card, Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana, we can only hope we get the same type of “Oh, damn!” surprises. It sure doesn’t look like it, but we’ve been wrong before. TQBR’s Patrick Connor will talk you through it, though, with the help of TQBR editor/founder Tim Starks and fellow staff writer Matthew Swain.
